after going to JB for several times it has now felt safer to go over for short trips. plus it’s really accessible! 🙂 and now the exchange rate is super attractive. it’s $1SGD to $2.68MYR ❤
so ray and i went over to JB for 2D1N during his leave before he fly off to Thailand again 😦
so we met at about 11am in the morning and at 10.51am while i was texting him on whatsapp i said i got a craving for the egg and cheese mcmuffin and he left home and ran to macdonalds to buy for me cause breakfast menu was gonna be over at 11am on weekdays. at 10.56 sent me a photo and captioned “Mcbreakfast for you?”. im a blessed girl 🙄
after sharing one mcmuffin (took us a lot of discipline to not get one more), we set off and took bus 950 to the customs! it was pretty simple and i think it got us to the singapore checkpoint and then to malaysia checkpoint in i think 30 mins? we walked around in city square for awhile and then we went to the nearby streets for indian vegetarian food and man, they were delicious! 🙂 i always have a soft spot for indian food because i really really love their curry and their briyana and their prata and their murtabak omg. talking about them now makes me salivate like the dog doing classical conditioning. i dont know where did my photo go to 😦 anyway please pardon the photo quality because they were taken with HTC phone. the camera is really bad.
afterwards we decided to take taxi to our hotel which is near KSL and we took a nap after eating lunch. hahaha but anyway that’s what a getaway is about right! it’s about resting and relaxing :p
night time – it was raining heavily outside and we waited for about 1 more hour before setting off in search of the night market, Pelangi Pasar Malam. it was pretty creepy at night. we had to walk for about 15 to 20 minutes along a stretch of shop houses followed by private houses before we reached a mosque and finally the night market. is like those typical crime scene where the murderer will just come out and kill you and then drive you to some forest and dump your body. ray was really sweet, he was holding the umbrella and sheltering me the whole way i really feel so happy like a little princess hehe.
when we finally see the night market we were super happy that we made it! 😀 and he was being extremely sweet because he made sure we walk once around the night market to make sure i got food first. i think we walked the night market like twice? first time was to recce what are all the foods there, second time to buy my food, and then ray walked a third time to buy his own food after settling me down with a seat at the hawker next to the night market. i really really think im super lucky to have you! ❤
so anyway the night market really sells a lot of things. from fresh fish, vegetables, fruits, to street food like burger, carrot cake, fried chicken, malay mixed rice.
so i had fried king oyster mushrooms, carrot cake (which we only realized it’s vegetarian after ordering, pleasant surprise!) and some pau which i didnt take a picture of hehe. was quite full and satisfied afterwards!
the hawker place i was talking about 🙂
ray is very happy with his kueh tiao kia! 😀
you know what, i bought one packet of 20 cute little jambu (rose apple) on impulse from the night market, i cant believe i bought them. the person offered me a piece of sample and i just bought it there and then. but it’s really sweet and crunchy! i guess its in-season 🙄
back in hotel eating our rose apples hehe.
so the next day we had breakfast buffet in the hotel and i was damn disappointed 😦 i was really looking forward to it but then the food here not very nice. i could only eat french toast, toast, porridge (tasted really bad), koko krunch w milk, salad, fruits. ray enjoyed the lontong though 🙂 i was really expecting the omelette station but i think they were not operating on that day 😦 nothing beats the breakfast buffet i had at HK during our csc trip, im still thinking about it. ray misses it too.
after breakfast we went back to room to watch TV and napped till check out time, which was 12pm 🙂 then we walked to KSL mall, walked around and nothing really interests me. ray was looking at sports stuff cause they’re all pretty cheap here! 🙂
R: you see this kind of things with me you not bored meh?
hahaha of course i was! but i thought i should accompany him like how he accompanied me to shop 🙂 being in a relationship is all about compromising each other isnt it? 😀
we had lunch at this restaurant in KSL which i forgot the name :p i think it’s kinsahi? it is a japanese restaurant which serves meat but they have a separate vegetarian menu. not to mention, the ambience here is really nice. we are seated in a cozy booth on our own but there is like a pond in the middle of the whole restaurant with mist coming out of it which is pretty cool! like dining in heaven.
restaurant was dimly lit and i found it really cozy 🙄
our pot of green tea
that’s ray calculating how much we spent for the whole trip while waiting for our food :p
and this is me taking selfie hehehe.
that’s noodles with jap hot pot and gyoza which we regretted ordering 😦 the taste of the noodles and the hot pot was really ordinary.
best. ever. i really really love makis! even those we had at herbivore they were really good! and this is good too! i am not too sure which is better but i just love them all. this is inari maki and the whole thing is just so damn delicious! when you put it into your mouth the taste just really explodes and its so chewy and there was something crispy inside! yum! ❤
had the first chawanmushi in my life and it’s pretty nice! but i don’t think i would get it again.
this is the other bomb we enjoyed so much! apparently it’s supposed be fish but then doesnt take remotely like fish? hahaha but it’s still delicious!! 🙂 love the texture and the taste and the potato salad is nice too. i like how the japanese rice goes so well with the mock meats 🙂
after filling our tummies we went to watch avengers and i really enjoyed the whole thing! i didnt watch part 1 but i think it’s really okay because it’s so exciting! 😀 i feel like watching all the super heroes movies now hehe.
thats us waiting for bus to go back to SG from the malaysian custom!
i think you look really cute in this photo
sent him off on thursday night 😦 off to thailand for 21 days. i’m missing you already! have a safe trip and please take good care of yourself, dont get injured cause you’ve came this far, if you ooc now it’s really wasted!
i love you
